Vastu for Griha Arambha Astrology

It is extremely necessary to worship the plot (land) before starting the construction. This pooja, prayer should be done in the north east -corner of the plot on any auspicious Vastu Muhurat for house. by a learned Pandit. The first digging must be done by the owner on a auspicious Vastu Muhurat as set by a learned astrologer. An auspicious day means the Panchanga or the five components (Dina, Nakshatra, Thithi, Yoga, Karan) of that particular date or day is. These components are dependent on the position of the moon and the earth. Good panchanga does not means that particular day is good for every person.

Construction of a house involves a series of activities like digging for the purpose of foundation laying, digging of well, laying the foundation, starting actual construction, laying roof, door fittings, etc. There are specific muhurthas which should be observed for best results. Observing these muhurthas leads to speedy and safe construction. Since for most of us, building of a house involves a large amount of money, the savings of a lifetime, it is advisable, if need be, to wait for some time for the auspicious muhurtha.

Alternatively, the Earth is said to sleep if Moon's nakshatra is 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 19th or 26th from the Sun's nakshatra on a particular day. For digging purpose nakshatras recommended for construction, Llttaraphalguni, Uttarashada, Llttarabhadrapada, Rohini, Mrigshira, Revati, Chitra, Anuradha, Shatbhisha, Swati, Dhanishtha, Hasta and Pushya are considered good. • Digging of the foundation should always be done in the North-East, the logic behind this principle is to keep the North-East level low and light.
  • Construction work of a building is to be always started only after Vaastu Puja (Bhumi Pujan). The construction of building should be started at South-West and proceeds towards North-West / South-East and should end at North-East Here are the effects in which month the Construction work is started.

Vastu for Griha Arambha Astrology

Bhumi Pujan

Bhumi pooja / pujan is a Hindu ritual performed in honour of Goddess Bhoomi and Vastu Purush (the deity of directions), before beginning the construction of a new house. The five elements of nature are also worshipped during the bhumi pujan. Bhoomi means mother earth. Usually, the Bhumi Puja is performed in the north-east corner of the construction site. According to Vastu experts, the digging at the site should begin in the north-east corner.

For the bhumi pujan, a ritualistic 64-part diagram symbolising the 'Vaastu Purusha' is drawn in the north-eastern zone of the construction site, using kumkum and seeds. Each part in this diagram is related to a deity. Mantras are chanted and offerings made, to each deity. A pit is dug and the first brick is laid in it.

Religious leaders look at the Hindu Panchang, that is, the Hindu calendar, for muhurathams. It is advisable that you consult a renowned and experienced astrologer to choose the perfect muhurat for your bhumi pujan and house construction. When an astrologer is consulted, he generally analyses your birth and horoscope details, to arrive at a date. These days, you can also consult experienced astrologers online. However, it may still be better to get in touch with those you know or those recommended by peers and family members.

Bhumi Pujan Vidhi: How to Perform Bhumi or Neev Pujan

According to Vastu Shastra, you should always perform Bhumi or Neev Pujan in Shubh Muhurat following the Bhumi Pujan Vidhi. You should conduct the Bhumi Pujan in the northeast direction of the plot. Also, you should start the construction of the house or office from the northeast direction.

Bhumi Pujan Vidhi says that you should draw a 64-part diagram in the northeast direction of the construction site. The 65-part diagram symbolizes Vastu Purusha. Different parts symbolize different deities. It is always best to perform Bhumi Pujan with a known Pandit Ji.

Pandit Ji will chant the mantra for each deity to eliminate negative energies and obstacles coming on the way to house construction. After this, you need to lay the first brick in a pit on the construction site. You must follow this Bhumi Pujan Vidhi to ensure a Vastu-compliant house construction.
