Also referred to as Chhath Parv, Chhetri, Dala Chhath or Dala Puja, this festival is marked by a 4-day long ritual; holy bathing, Nirjal Vrat (complete abstinence from food and water), offering prayers to the Sun and distributing sweets.

According to the Hindu calendar, Chhath falls on the sixth day of the month of Kartik known as Kartik Shukla Shashti. In 2023, Chhath Puja will be celebrated on 19th November.

Chhath Puja Vidhi

The 3rd day of Chhath is the day of reverence of Lord Sun. On this day, women go to the pool or river in the evening and offer Argha to the Lord Sun. And on the last day of Chhath, the fast is finish by offering Ardhya to the Sun at sunrise. On the day of Chhath, women stand in the pool and river before sunrise. And reverence the Lord Sun. Method of giving Ardhya

Place bananas in the bamboo soup and other fruits, alonaprasad, sugar cane and cover them with yellow cloth. Then light the lamp in the soup and take the soup in both hands and chant the following chants.
